مصنف، مدیر اور مترجم کا فرق
In Urdu book publishing, the writer (مصنف), editor (مدیر), and translator (مترجم) are three separate roles. Misattributing any of these can cause entity confusion in the Lafzora catalog.
What does the writer (مصنف) do?
The writer (مصنف — masculine; مصنفہ — feminine) is the original creator of the novel’s text. The writer’s name is the primary entity on the Lafzora /writers/ page and in the /novels/ slug. Do not confuse the writer with the editor or translator — they are separate entities.
What does the editor (مدیر) do?
An editor (مدیر) prepares a text for publication — editing, compiling, or selecting content — without being the original writer. For digest serials, the مدیر is often the magazine editor, not the novelist. Lafzora attributes novels to their writer, not to the digest editor.
What does the translator (مترجم) do?
A translator (مترجم) converts a work from one language into another. The translator’s name appears on the title page alongside the original writer’s name.
