An Urdu novel is long fiction treated as one book. An afsana is a short-story class. English “novella” is a length label, not a third Lafzora page type. This page deepens that contrast. It does not invent /novella/.

What is the difference between an Urdu novel and an afsana?
A novel is long fiction sold and catalogued as one book. An afsana is a short story class with a different publishing history. The class guide already states that once. This page is the comparison: length, compilation, and URL. A PDF labelled “afsana” is still not a novel if the text is a short standalone piece.
Read what is an Urdu novel for the object test (title plus writer). Come here when the fight is novel versus afsana versus English novella language.
Is a novella a third Lafzora URL type?
No. Lafzora does not publish /novella/. English “novella” names a middle length. It does not mint a third folder beside /novels/ and a short-story class. If the work is treated as one novel on the title page, it keeps a novel URL even when the scan is short.
Inventing /novella/ would split entities and raise cost of retrieval. Searchers who type novella still land on this method page, then on the matching /novels/ URL.
Is Baagh a novella or a novel on Lafzora?
A novel. Baagh by Abdullah Hussain stays on /novels/baagh-abdullah-hussain/. The matching scan is 98 pages. Page count does not demote it to an afsana and does not create a novella slug. Abdullah Hussain’s longer Udas Naslain is a different book, not the “full version” of Baagh.
A pakistanipoint watermark on that scan is an access mark, not a class change. Open the work page. Do not download a novella pack from this guide.
Is Iblees an afsana because the title is short?
No. Iblees is Nimra Ahmed’s novel ابلیس. Open Iblees. A short Roman title is not a short-story class. Recitation of a religious word is a different object. Fiction length is measured by the work, not by how many letters fit in the slug.
Azazeel by Rabia Khan is another novel with a short theological token. Two short titles are still two novels. Neither becomes an afsana because English Wikipedia might say “novella.”
Does digest length make a serial an afsana?
No. A compiled digest serial that readers treat as one book is still a novel. Episode count is a publishing history attribute. Yaram compiled from Shuaa remains a novel. A single-issue short piece that never becomes a book stays outside /novels/.
See digest serialization for magazines versus work URLs. Serialization does not flip the class to afsana.
How is this page different from “what is an Urdu novel”?
That URL defines the class. This URL compares three labels that collide in search: novel, afsana, novella. The definition page already has an afsana heading. Repeating only that heading here would cannibalize. The extra predicates are English novella length, Baagh as a short compiled novel, and the ban on /novella/.
Keep both URLs. Do not 301 this comparison onto the definition. Predicates differ enough to deserve this page.
Should I search /novella/ on Lafzora?
No. That slug is not a catalog object. If you hold Baagh, open Baagh. If you hold Iblees, open Iblees. If you hold a true afsana, do not demand a novel PDF button. Email contact@lafzora.com when a short file was attached to a novel URL by mistake.
This guide is not a download of novellas. CTA goes to the named novel, then to writers. Files stay on work pages.
